How to know what keywords to target and see where you rank in Google

Today’s tips will help you get an idea about where your site ranks in Google search as well as how to do keyword research.

If you want to rank well in Google search is it important that you do some research to see what keywords to target, and also to see where you rank for those keywords.

#1 Ubersuggest

There are countless tools and methods for how to do keyword research. But my personal favorite for doing organic keyword research is Ubersugest.

All you need to do is put in a keyword that relates to your business and the tool will give you numerous other keywords and phrases that are related and recommended. You can then evaluate the keywords based on their monthly search volume and search difficulty (SD).

The keywords that you should focus on are the ones that have a higher monthly search volume with a low search difficulty score. The lower the SD score the more likely you will be able to rank for those searches.

Once you get some good keyword and phrases to target then you should adjust the necessary page’s title, meta description, and page content to include the keyword in a natural way.

#2 Incognito Searching

Now that you have the keywords that you want to be ranking for you should do some research to see if you are already ranking for those searches, as well as evaluate your search competition. The easiest way to do that is using an incognito or private browsing window.

Your browser is usually giving you personalized search results based on your search history and sites that you have visited previously. So that could make it so that your site shows up artificially higher in search results.

But if you are using an incognito browser window then you will be getting a clean browsing experience. That way you can find out where/if you are ranking for your target keywords in an unbiased browser.
