Today’s tips are two apps that can help you improve your writing and act as your virtual copy editors.
There are so many times throughout the day that you have to write things. Be that an email, social media post, blog posts, email newsletters, website copy, the list goes on.
Hiring a professional copywriter is a good idea for your cornerstone pieces of content and sales pages. But it isn’t practical to have someone edit every piece of content you write.
That’s where these two apps come into play.
Spell checker to the MAX!
Grammarly makes sure everything you type is clear, effective, and mistake-free. It is a free add-on for Google Chrome that once installed goes to work right away. It checks for spelling, grammar, word choice and a bunch of other grammatical rules.
There is also a paid version that provides even more corrections if you want to step up your writing game.
And one of my favorite features is that if you double-click on a word then a list of synonyms pops up — SO handy!
Hemingway Editor is another free app to help with your writing. While Grammarly is more about grammar, Hemingway is more about the document as a whole, improving your sentences and making them easier to read.
It also gives your content a reading level grade too. Generally, you want to make your writing accessible to a large audience so a lower reading grade is actually better!
There is also a paid desktop version of the app if you want to be able to work offline as well as have access to a bit more of a feature set.
